How Much Does Umrah Cost from the UK in 2026 and 2027?

A realistic breakdown of what Umrah costs from UK airports, from cheap 3 star packages to the last ten nights of Ramadan, and where your money actually goes.

How Much Does Umrah Cost from the UK in 2026 and 2027?

For most British pilgrims, an all inclusive Umrah package costs between about £650 and £1,500 per person outside Ramadan, with flights, the visa, hotels and transfers included. Ramadan and the school holidays cost more, and the last ten nights of Ramadan can cost two to four times as much as a normal week.

Where you land in that range depends on four things: your departure airport, the time of year, how close your hotels are to the Haram, and how many people share a room.

Typical prices from the UK

PackageTypical price per personWhat you get
Cheap or 3 star, 7 to 10 nights£599 to £850Simple hotels with a shuttle or a 10 to 15 minute walk
4 star, 10 nights£795 to £1,050Closer hotels, breakfast included
5 star, 10 nights£950 to £1,400Hotels a few minutes from the Haram
Ramadan, first twenty days£1,100 to £2,200Depends heavily on hotel level
Last ten nights of Ramadan£2,200 to £4,500 or moreVery limited rooms close to the Haram

Prices are per person with four sharing a room. Triple rooms usually cost around 10 percent more per person, and double rooms around 25 percent more.

Where the money goes

Flights

Return flights from London, Manchester or Birmingham to Jeddah or Madinah are usually the largest single cost outside Ramadan. Direct flights cost more than flights with one connection, and fares rise sharply in the school holidays.

Hotels

Hotels are where prices vary most. A room near the Haram in a normal week might cost a few hundred pounds a night. The same room in the last ten nights of Ramadan can cost three or four times as much. Distance matters too: a hotel with a shuttle can be half the price of one across the road from the mosque.

Visa, insurance and transport

The visa application, mandatory health insurance, airport transfers and travel between Makkah and Madinah add a few hundred pounds per person. The fees are set by the Saudi side and change from time to time, which is why a good package shows them inside the headline price.

How to keep the cost down

  • Travel outside the school holidays if you can, for example in late January, March or September.
  • Share a room with four people. It is the cheapest way to stay closer to the Haram.
  • Choose a 3 star hotel with a shuttle in Makkah and a closer hotel in Madinah.
  • Book three to four months ahead for Ramadan and Christmas.
  • Be flexible by a day or two on your flight dates.

Protect your money

Only book a flight inclusive Umrah package with a company that gives you an ATOL Certificate. Paying at least part of the cost by credit card can also give you protection under Section 75 of the Consumer Credit Act. Never pay a stranger in cash.
